Cook several new, fresh potatoes until done; drain and mash. Add pinch of salt and 1 Tablespoon butter (not melted). Add 1/4 cup sugar, 2 eggs, heaping Tablespoon flour; add enough milk to be soupy and 1 teaspoon vanilla, mixing well. Pour into unbaked pie shell; bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. Turn oven down to 375 degrees, bake until cut with knife and it comes out clean.
