Peel and boil potatoes. Melt butter in skillet; saute onions and mushrooms for 2 minutes. Remove onions and mushrooms, reserving butter.
Drain and whip potatoes. Add hot milk, reserved butter, salt and pepper.
In greased 9x13x2-inch baking dish, layer 1/3 potatoes, top with 1/2 sauteed vegetables and 1/2 cup sour cream. Repeat potato, vegetable and sour cream layers.
Top with remaining potatoes. Drizzle wiht butter and spriknl with paprika. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 30 minutes.
