Drop by rounded teaspoon full two inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 oven for 7-9 minutes or until light brown around the edges. Cool on a wire rack. Before serving melt jam in small sauce pan over low heat. Spoon about 1/2 tsp jam onto the top of each cookie. Melt remaining baking bar and shortening stirring constantly. Drizzle over cookies if necessary refrigerate 15 minutes to firm up chocolate.
