Bring butter to room temperature...
Heat oven to 300 degrees.

Cream the butter until it is the consistency of whipped cream. beat in sugar, add salt, and add flower in 4 portions (1 cup at a time) mixing well after each addition.

Turn out onto a floured board and pat or fill ti 1/4 or 1/2 inch think, Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.

|
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20 mintures or until lighty brown. keep your eye on them, shortbread burns really fast.
