Slice French bread into 1 inch slices and arrange slices in rows with slices overlapping in heavily buttered large casserole dish. In large bowl, combine everything but maple syrup and praline topping and whisk until blended.
Pour egg mixture over slices of bread, making sure to pour between slices to evenly coat the bread (will be soupy-bread will soak up mixture over night). Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spread praline topping over bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Yum! Serve warm

Praline topping: 1/2 pound butter, 1 cup packed light brown sugar, 1 cup chopped pecans, 2 tbsp light corn syrup, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg. Combine all ingredients in large bowl-blend well.
