Meanwhile, in heavy pan heat half and half over low heat until very hot. Do not boil.
In top of double broiler over simmering water, whisk egg yolks, sugar and salt. Slowly pour in half and half. cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and creamy. set aside to cool.
Stir in raisin-whiskey mixture and cinnamon. Then pour into bowl, cover with plastic wrap and chill. Process mixture according to manufacturers directions on ice cream machine.
