Heat oven 200 degrees. Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

Measure buttermilk, milk and oil in a 2 cup measuring cup. Mix in egg yolk. Set aside

Beat egg white in small bowl with electric mixer to almost soft peaks. Sprinkle in sugar and continue to beat until white and glossy. Beat in vanilla
|
|
|
Pour wet ingredients over dry and whisk until just mixed. Add egg to batter in dollops - fold into batter. Cook in waffle iron then let each set in oven for 5-20 minutes
