1/2 cup shiitake or portabello mushrooms, sliced (optional)
1/4 med yellow onion, halved and sliced into medium moon shaped slivers
2 green onions, diced
1/3 cup soy sauce
3 Tbl sugar
1 Tbl sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbl sesame seeds, toasted
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
2 pinches of black pepper
1/4 tsp ginger, finely minced (optional)
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients together in a medium bowl, except beef, onions, and mushrooms. When most of sugar has dissolved, add beef, onions, and mushrooms to the bowl. Mix well.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Overnight is best.
Cook beef mixture in a frying pan over medium high heat.
