1 17.25 oz pkg frozen Puff Pastry (2 sheets, thawed)
2 8 oz 3 or 4 inch round Brie
1 Egg, beaten
Instructions
Combine ingredients for mushroom filling.
On a lightly floured surface, unfold one pastry sheet. Cut pastry
down to 9 inch circle, saving trimmings. Spread 1/2 of mushroom
filling in middle of circle, size of brie. Place brie on top. Combine
beaten egg with water; brush some of mixture atop pastry circle,
around brie.
Wrap pastry up and over brie, folding and pleating excess pastry.
Cover brie entirely and trim excess pleats. Turn brie over onto
greased baking pan. Brush pastry with more egg mixture. Cut fun
shapes out of excess saved trimmings, brush with egg and arrange
on top of pastry. Cut slits for escaping steam.
Repeat with other pastry sheet, mushroom mixture and brie. Chill,
covered, 2 to 4 hours. Bake a 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Let
stand 30 minutes before serving.
