Butter an 8 inch square pan
|

Combine sugar, cocoa, salt in saucepan. Gradually add milk
|

Bring to boil over medium heat. Stirring constantly. Boil stirring to soft ball stage.

Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla allow to sit, untouched, to room temp (110 degrees)Beat by hand till fudge loses if gloss, begins to thicken and cracks as you beat it. Spread quickly in pan and cut into 36 pieces.
