Cut ham slices in half crosswise. Trim excess fat from the ham slices.
In skillet cook fat trimming until crisp; discard trimmings.

Cook ham slices in hot fat for 5 to 6 minutes o each side or till brown.
Transfer ham to a platter; keep warm.

|
Stir boiling water and instant coffee crystals into pan drippings.
Cook 2 to 3 minutes or till mixture is reduced by half, scraping pan to loosen crusty bits.
