4 good-sized potatoes

1 egg

3/4 cup flour, approximately

2 slices bread, toasted and cut into cubes

salt to taste

Instructions |
|
|
Cook potatoes with jackets, peel and mash fine. When cold add egg and toasted bread cubes. Mix all together and form three large balls.
|

Place in kettle of boiling water and cook slowly for 20 minutes. Dumplings will sink to the bottom but will rise when almost done. Do not overcook.
|
|
|
Serve with chicken or port roast and gravy.
Serves 3.
