This great tasting dish is even better when you use ingredients fresh from the farm. You can bake it in the oven or put it in your slow cooker.

If using brats, remove meat from the casing. Brown and break up meat into small pieces. Drain on a paper towel. When cool combine meat with the apples, and oregano. Salt and pepper to taste.

Fill the acron squash halves with this mixture and place in slow cooker in staggered layers. Add water and cover. Cook for 6 to 8 hours. If using your oven place the acorn squash on a large baking sheet. Add water and cover with foil. Bake at 350 for about two hours or until squash is tender.

|
Serve with mashed red pototes for a meal right from the farm.
