1/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup white wine OR orange juice

3in. stick of cinnamon

4 pears- peeled, halved, and cored

(Can do this with peaches halved and pitted too)

Instructions |
|
|
I large pan bring sugar, wine, cinnamon, vanilla AND 3/4 CUP WATER to boiling.
|

|
Add pears/peaches, reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 10-15 min or till tender. Remove and chill.
|
|
|
Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce for Pears Helene
|
