Sauté stew meat in hot pan and 1 Tbsp oil, just
until golden on each side. Add broth,
Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and
paprika to crock pot while meat is browning. Turn
crock pot on high.
Add carrots, potatoes, garlic, onions, and celery to
broth, then add meat and mix well. Cover and cook
10 to 12 hours on low (4 to 6 hours on high)
Before stew is done remove 2 cups of the broth and
put in sauce pan. Thicken stock with corn starch
and water to desired thickness, then add back to the
stew and stir together. Cook for about 15 minutes
longer and serve.
