Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium heat. Add shallots and garlic and saute until beginning to soften (about 3 minutes). Add sausages and saute until nolonger pink breaking up the sausage (about 5 minutes or more). Add cream and simmer for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes with the juices. Add sage. Simmer until sauce thickens, stirring occassionally (about 15 minutes).
Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted warer until just tender, but still firm to bite. Drain pasta reserving 1/2 c of cooking liquid.
Return pasta to same pot and add sauce. Toss over medium heat until sauce coats pasts adding reserved liquid if necessary. Seasn with salt and pepper. Transfer to a bowl and sprinkle with cheese.
