Heat broiler;line with aluminum foil. Rinse and pat dry salmon or chicken. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
In a small bowl combine syrup, mustard, and soy sauce. Place salmon or chicken on broiler pan and brush with half of the mixture.
Broil for 16 minutes- 8 minutes each side. Turn salmon or chicken after the first 8 minutes and brush with remaining mixture. Broil the for the last 8 minutes and take out of oven.
