1-1/2 packages beefy onion soup mix
|

1-3/4 cup water
|
|
1/3 cup ketchup
|
|
1/8 tsp. pepper
|
|
1 bay leaf
|

13 cup flour
|
|
3 to 5 lb beef chuck roast
|
|
4 to 6 potatoes, peeled and halved
|
|
4 carrots, peeled and sliced
|
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Instructions |

|
Combine soup mix, water, ketchup, pepper, and bay
leaf; stir well and set aside.
|

Shake flour in a large oven roasting bag; place bag
in a 13 x 9 baking pan. Place roast in bag; arrange
vegetables on top. Pour soup mixture on top.

|
Close bag with nylon tie provided; cut six, 1/2 inch
slits in top.

|
|
Bake at 325 degrees for 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Discard
bay leaf. Serve roast and vegetables with gravy from
bag.
