     Skillet Fried Apples

Ingredients
3 Tbspn butter
5 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced (about 2 1/4 lb.)
2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp apple pie spice
 

Instructions
Melt butter in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat; add apples and remaining ingredients. Saute 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
Skillet-Fried Balsamic Apples and Sweet Onion- Omit apple pie spice. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add 2 large sweet onins, sliced and saute 5 minutes. Add appples, brown sugar, and 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, and saute 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
Goes good over buttered biscuits or balsamic version goes good with grilled chicken or pan-fried pork chops
