1/2 tablespoon jerk seasoning (like McCormicks or Pampered Chef)
1 1/2 pounds ground lean turkey
1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon jerk seasoning
8 slices bacon, cooked and drained
4 slices smoked cheese (cheddar or other)
4 kaiser or hamburger rolls, toasted
Instructions
for slaw: combine apples, lemon peel, lemon juice, mayonnaise, chives, 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup, and 1/2 tablespoon jerk seasoning. refrigerate until ready to use.
for burgers: whisk together 1 1/2 tablespoons syrup and 1 tablespoon jerk seasoning. mix with turkey and shape into 4 burgers. grill or pan fry until cooked through.
to assemble: place burger on bottom of bun, top with cheese, bacon and slaw.
